This year’s largest computing show, Computex 2018, kicked off on Monday. Since then, there have been numerous announcements. Here are the key highlights.
Computex 2018, the most prominent computing show on the face of the planet kicked off in Taipei, Taiwan. The exhibition features the best computer systems, peripherals, and accessories coming from some of the world’s top computer manufacturers. The event will run for five days, from June 4th to June 9th.

Here are some of the top announcements and big reveals from Computex 2018.
Asus ROG Strix Hero II – Asus just unveiled its newest gaming laptop at the Computex 2018. The Asus ROG Strix Hero II is an affordable gaming laptop equipped with Intel Core i7-8750H, GTX 1060 6GB, Full HD 144Hz display 16GB 2666Mhz RAM, 256GB PCIe SSD, and a 1TB FireCuda SSHD that could satisfy any gamers need for laptop power.
Asus ZenBook Pro 15 – packed with an Intel Core i9 processor and Nvidia 1050 Ti graphics card together with a 5.5-inch screen pad below the keyboard, this device is among the crowd favorites at the show.
Asus ROG Phone – aside from laptops and accessories, Asus also introduced its very own gaming-focused smartphone device, the Asus ROG Phone. It is considered the world’s first smartphone to run 3D vapor-chamber cooling system. It is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core chip with a clock speed of up to 2.96GHz.
Project Precog – Asus is definitely one busy bee at the Computex 2018 event. The company revealed a new laptop that has a second screen which acts as a smart keyboard. Dubbed Project Precog, the device is powered by artificial intelligence and could also show apps and videos.
Intel 28-Core Processor – Intel announced that it would be launching a 28-core processor that’s clocked at 5GHz within the year. Although not much information has been given about this processor, it is expected to have incredible performance.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 CPU – world-leading chip maker Qualcomm just announced it’s new chipset, Snapdragon 850 CPU, which is specially designed for Windows 10 devices. The second-generation Snapdragon 850 promises improved performance, longevity, and the wireless connectivity of the “Always Connected” PCs.
Nvidia Jetson Xavier – Nvidia introduced its new AI chip dubbed Jetson Xavier. The chip was reportedly built for robots and not your typical computer machine. It would run on the company’s Isaac platform and will begin shipping to developers in August.
